Argentina/Paraguay 2011

posted Jan 4, 2012 1:36 PM by Randy Crook   [ updated Jan 5, 2012 7:02 AM ]

San Antonio
We now have tickets for Argentina and Paraguay.  Loida and I will be leaving for Buenos Aires on the 18th of January, 2012.  We will have services every day in Chingolo (suburb of Bs.As.) where Bro. Charlie Gimenez is pastoring.  We will leave for Asuncion, Paraguay on Sunday.  There will be a family camp in Isla Vega from Wednesday through Sunday the 29th.  Our plan is to arrive in Kansas City on Saturday the 4th of February.

One thing the Lord has put on my heart and that I have shared with Alicia and Fide is the need for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit.  For the past several years on the trips we have made to Paraguay and Argentina we have experienced some wonderful stirrings of the Holy Spirit, prolonged and moving alter services but none to very few have actually been filled with the Holy Spirit.  The same could be said of the camps and conventions here in the United States; wonderful stirrings of the Holy Spirit but few filled with the Holy Spirit.

You understand I'm not complaining.  We are grateful for every blessing from the hand of the Lord.  His faithfulness is steadfast, his kindness boundless.  But there are times when the Holy Spirit himself stirs our hearts for more.  We want MORE and MORE and MORE!  And THIS generation.  This generation!  We do NOT want this generation to be one that "knew not the Lord nor the work which He had done for [US]" (Judges 2:10).

We have talked with Alicia and Fide about praying specifically for this. We talked about how we can't "make it happen" but we can seek the Lord and follow the leading of the Spirit. We talked about asking the Lord's leading if we are to have a special time of prayer in the AM or maybe even go to Caazapa after camp with any who desire and spend a day or two in prayer there.  I don't know how the Lord will lead but trust Him to do "exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think".

Please be in earnest prayer and agreement with us that God would graciously pour out His Holy Spirit and that many would receive the fullness of the Holy Spirit with the sign of speaking in tongues.  We have emphasized in the past the importance of growing in grace.  How that miracles, signs and wonders are not our daily bread.  We will love and serve the Lord if we NEVER see a miracle.  That remains true, but oh how my heart cries out today for miracles!!!  Especially and specifically the miracle of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit.  Revive us oh Lord!  Revive this generation!

Paraguay 2012

Loida and I are planning another trip to Paraguay and Argentina in January 2012.  Still haven't purchased the tickets...searching for better prices :-).

The plan is to attend a series of meetings in Buenos Aires, Argentina first and then head down to Paraguay for the family camp in Isla Vega.  Not sure if we will have a pastors convention or not.

Please keep us in prayer as we prepare for the trip.  I am swamped at work and have precious little time to prepare my lessons for South America.

Trip Blog

Many have expressed interest in the work in SA. We have been so very blessed and privileged over the years to be able to minister in Paraguay and Argentina; Dad of course, for over 30 years. I started doing my Trip Blog in 2009 in response to interest in the meeting here in KC. Instead of repeating myself 20 times I thought this would be a better option .   I have been so very blessed to be able to visit Paraguay and Argentina since 2008. I never want to come across as a "missionary" or in any other way than simply walking in obedience to what God has revealed to my heart as his will for me for this time.

Even though I try to give as much detail as possible in the blog it is only a summary...very short summary of all the goodness and grace and mercy of God displayed during these trips. It is a wonderful thing to see what God is doing in individual lives and in local assemblies.

I will continue to update the blog with additional thoughts, information, testimonies, etc. as the Lord permits.

Back in the good old USA!  It is good to be home and settling back in to our routine.  I have finally finished the posts to my trip blog.  I will be adding some overall comments and observation in the next few days, but the summary of the trip is finished.  You can also view a slide show on the albums page.

Many thanks to all who pray for us during these trips and all year around.

I will not be posting updates on the home page while I am gone.  Please visit the Trips blog for update. We are having a good, but busy and exhausting time.

May the Lord bless you.

Frylink, Noemi, Samuel
Loida, Frylinky, Lilia

Well...we are all packed!  That is not as easy as it sounds :-)  Loida always tries to take cloths for her family, especially for her older sister Noemi and her kids.  We also end up taking things for Abel, Sara Crook, Mariela Crook and others.  We are allowed a total of four bags, 50lbs. each of checked baggage.

2011 Trip ~ Paraguay/Argentina

posted Jan 11, 2011 12:48 PM by Randy Crook   [ updated Jan 12, 2011 10:05 AM ]

We will be leaving for Paraguay January 20th, returning February 7th.  I am so grateful to the Lord that Loida will be traveling with me this year.  We had not even considered Loida making this trip, but the Lord had other plans and supplied the funds...we didn't even ASK?!  Isn't the Lord wonderful?!

We will meet up with mom and dad in Houston, but will be tacking separate flights from Houston to Buenos Aires, Argentina.  We are scheduled to arrive in Bs.As. at the same time and will continue on to Asunción together on the same flight; scheduled for arrival in Asunción 4:25PM local time.  The clocks on the right sidebar show the current times in both Paraguay and Argentina.

New Template

posted Jan 11, 2011 12:47 PM by Randy Crook

More changes!  Always changing.  Just trying to get something that will work for us... and you of course  :-)

I have found that having a website that is easy to update is very important.  I create websites for a living but never seem to have time to work on my own site.

I think the title also reflects more of what this site is about.  Just ramblings from my desk.  Most of the content has to do with sermons notes and recent trips to Paraguay and Argentina.  You can also visit my Spanish version site; not the same content.

After getting back from Paraguay in January we moved into the parsonage here at Grace Community Church.  It is good to be so close to the church and it is a blessing to be able to help around the church building in some small way.  On that note, we just  launched the church website this week. Not much content yet, but some sermon notes and mp3's...you can sign up for the podcast.

What's with the world clocks?  I always want to know the time in Paraguay and Argentina...besides, I thought it was a really cool gadget :-)   I also added a gadget to keep track of the weather in Kansas City and in Paraguay.  The seasons in Paraguay are reversed...so, when it's winter in Kansas City, it's summer in Paraguay.

So, with this new template, maybe now we can actually keep this site updated.  I will try to add some sermon notes and update my blogs.  Basically, My BlogProyects and Trips are all blogs; each with their own theme.  On each blog you can sign up to follow the blog or copy the RSS feed.   I am also changing the way we do Albums... streaming from our picasaweb albums, enjoy!

Some had asked me to post my sermon notes on the series I have at Grace Community Church in 2009, "New Things", I have finally done that.

Those of you who know me, know that I am a terrible speller, so please bear with me.  I am not offended by those who, in love, correct my spelling and grammer...just kidding...grammar.
