Job 14:7-9 (NKJV)
7 “For there is hope for a tree,
If it is cut down, that it will sprout again,
And that its tender shoots will not cease.
8 Though its root may grow old in the earth,
And its stump may die in the ground,
9 Yet at the scent of water it will bud
And bring forth branches like a plant.
This is the Scripture reference that Bro. Enrique started out with. He made reference to the work that was started some 30 years ago when his parents moved to, what back then was referred to as, Finap. He remembered dad's visit back then when some 37 people were baptized and dad performed seven weddings in one evening. He also mentioned the time about 25 years ago when he and I stood in this exact spot and I asked him where they might build a church and he said; "right here". Not long after that Bro. Enrique moved his family farther north and the work there came pretty much to a halt. Bro. Genaro, Enrique's dad had long before then moved to Caazapa to start the work there.

Since Bro. Enrique moved to Santani six years ago, they have been having services under a tree, so today was a big day for them to be able to have services under a roof. Capiibary is about 60 miles Southeast of Santani and 90 miles northeast of Villarrica. There are about 6 families that are attending services at this time. So, the "stump", having been watered, is now beginning to sprout! Praise the Lord for His grace and strength.

We had three messages in the morning, one message in the afternoon, followed by a simple wedding of an older couple that had been living together for many years. I was able to use some of my new sound equipment and found that I need to do something about the mic. Bro. Heriberto, the choir director in Villarrica, went with us with his daughter.

Please remember Capiibary and the surrounding community. Also remember Bro. Enrique as he continues to minister in several communities in this area.
