April 2015 Newsletter

I guess it's been a while since we wrote a newsletter. Even our blog has suffered from our negligence. We rejoice, however, in the faithfulness of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He never fails. He remains ever faithful. We also rejoice in the fellowship of the Gospel and even though we may not hear from you, we are very aware of your love and especially of your prayers.

March 13 to 15 we had a fellowship meeting in San Miguel, Tucuman, Argentina. This was our first time to visit this congregation. We had met the pastor in Resistencia and had seen him and his wife on a couple of other ocations and had been seeking the Lord for an open door to visit them. We went by Resistencia and picked up Sis. Elba Romero and, along with Sis. Graciela from Villarrica, we made the trip. Very humble people and yet so very generous. We rejoiced around the word of God Friday and Saturday all day and Sunday morning. Tucuman is about a 17 hour drive from Villarrica. We arrived back in Villarrica Monday morning rejoicing in what the Lord had done but absolutely exhausted.

The 2015 Easter Camp started in Isla Vega on Wednesday the first and, as usual, went through Sunday at noon. We had excellent weather and a wonderful time of fellowship around the Word. It did rain on Saturday, just keeping up with the tradition of it raining during camp.

We made some changes in the sound system and, along with our new mic, it made a huge difference. There are still a few things that we want to change as the Lord enables. We don't use loud music, but we do want the preaching to be heard loud and clear. There were also some changes as far as order in the kitchen, KP and registration. We are grateful for the Lord's leading and for these small, but significant improvements.

The Word went out with power and the anointing of the Holy Spirit. It was a time of discipline and chastisement from the Lord and many, I believe, were wounded deeply but... "He has torn, but He will heal us; He has stricken, but He will bind us up" Hosea 6:1 Although the Word was hard to hear, many expressed that it was sweet, none the less.

There is no doubt that we are living in the last days. There is also no doubt that, for those who are willing, the Lord Jesus Christ is walking in the midst of His church, judging our lives. How much better to be judged by Him today and submit to His correction, instruction and discipline, than to walk away in shame at His coming (1 Jn 2:28; 1 Cor 11:31).

Apart from the usual visits to Capiata on Wednesdays, Cnel. Oviedo on Saturday and Caazapa on Sunday mornings, we have been doing quite a bit with the printing; both in preparing tracks and studies for printing, as well as the printing itself. We also continue to look for a house or property. We are also in the planning process on several construction projects for camp which we will give more detail on in the blog.

Upcoming events include:

  • Couples Retreat in Caazapa on the 10th of May
  • Wedding and Inauguration of a new building in Capii Vary on the 17th of May
  • Workers meeting the first part of June
It is right and appropriate for me to have this confidence and feel this way about you all, because you have me in your heart and I hold you in my heart as partakers and sharers, one and all with me, of grace. [This is true] both when I am shut up in prison and when I am out in the defense and confirmation of the good news (the Gospel). Philippians 1:7 (AMP)

All our love in Christ
