December 2014 Newsletter

Greetings in the name of Jesus,

Isaiah 9:6b (NKJV)
...and His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

In every one of those names there are truths untold and comforts beyond expression, and to us who believe, He is precious! The Word became flesh. The invisible God became man and dwelt among us and even to this day we behold His glory and experience His grace. That of His character and eternal purposes that remained hidden in time past, to us, upon whom the ends of the ages have come, He has fully revealed through the person of His Son. In our lives and hearts the Son of righteousness has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. May our God and Father open our spiritual eyes more and more to aspire to attaining all the riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the knowledge of the mystery of God as we come to the last moments of this last day.

Once again, the year has flashed by in a whirlwind of activities; joys and sorrows, trials and triumphs, all in the perfect will of Him who upholds all things by the power of His word. We are grateful for His grace and mercy and kindness; for brothers and sisters throughout Paraguay and Argentina and the United States that have been a support and encouragement and joy in our lives and ministry, for the seed sown, for blessings received, for answered prayers, for lives changed, for lives challenged, for "the good hand of our God upon us" in so many ways.

This has been an exhausting year of travel and preaching and we realize that we needed to pause and evaluate what the Lord would have for us in this coming year. The Lord once again opened a door for us to visit family and saints back home in the United States. We will spend a total of five weeks at home, returning to Paraguay on December 30th. There has not been much time for rest and relaxation but we have had some time to pray and seek the Lord. Please pray with us as we continue daily to seek that good and acceptable and perfect will of God for our lives and ministry. We are keenly aware that any ministry is only affective and fruitful within the will of God. We also continue to feel the urgency that involves living in this last day of this closing age.

There are many material needs for 2015. Finishing the church building in Villarrica. Infrastructure at the Isla Vega camp. Infrastructure needs in Caazapa and surrounding area. Possible infrastructure for a Bible School. Infrastructure needs in Iruña. Supplies for printing material. And the list goes on. But these needs are barely worthy of mention. The true and urgent need is the spiritual. Jesus is coming and, although we understand that these material things are needful "till He come", what is truly needed and urgent is for the living Word of God to go out with power and under the anointing of the Holy Spirit. What we really need to be praying for is that lives would be changed from glory to glory into the very image of the Son of God. We have seen the hand of God these last two years supplying our every need. We rejoice in those provisions but what REALLY makes us rejoice and where our praise and worship rises in thanksgiving to God is in what He has been doing in the lives of people that we are privileged to minister to.

One of the things that has been made more real to us this year is that we have only one responsibility and that is to scatter the good and precious seed. That seed is sown not only from the pulpit but especially by our lives. How we interact with people. Choices that we make for our own lives. Being in meetings at every possible opportunity. Separating ourselves from every appearance of evil. Living the gospel every day. Some of that seed will fall on hard ground. Some will be robed by Satan. But some will bear fruit. Some will grow and multiply. We may sow the seed, another may water it, but it is God and God alone that will give growth. At the end of each day we will say; "we are unprofitable servants. We have done what was our duty to do", and on that great day we will hear; "Well done, good and faithful servant...enter into the joy of your Lord."

As we return to Paraguay please be in prayer for the La Colonia family camp in Buenos Aires, January 15th through the 18th and the Isla Vega camp in Paraguay, January 22nd through the 25th. Pray for strength for us in traveling over 1,900 miles round trip and then starting camp three days after arriving back home. But especially pray for the Word to go out with power and authority and for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit.

Your prayers are felt and very much appreciated. We "pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers" (3 John 1:2).
