La Colonia 2014

Luke 1:46-47, 49-51, 53 (NKJV)
46 And Mary said: “My soul magnifies the Lord,
47 And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior.
49 For He who is mighty has done great things for me, And holy is His name.
50 And His mercy is on those who fear Him From generation to generation.
51 He has shown strength with His arm; He has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.
53 He has filled the hungry with good things, And the rich He has sent away empty.
At the end of 2012, we began to ask the Lord to see more of His glory. He has answered and continues to answer that prayer! 2013 has been one of the most blessed and spectacular years of our lives! Not just the move to Paraguay, or the trips to Chile and Argentina and all around Paraguay. Not just sharing wonderful fellowship with the Barkley's and Gravitt's and Bro. David and especially with mom and dad during their visit in February and March, but seeing God at work in the different meetings, camps and Bible conferences. The richness of His Word and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit!

2013 was filled with testimony after testimony of the goodness, kindness, mercy, faithfulness and all around abundance of our Heavenly Father. We expect even greater things for 2014 and we have started off well with a wonderful family camp in La Colonia, Florencio Varela, Buenos Aires, Argentina (Jan 9th - 12th).

We ended up traveling to Buenos Aires with Loida's aunt Reina (her husband went to be with the Lord in August) and with Jose and Elizabeth Nessi and Elias Navarro (Sis. Graciela's son, age 21). I don't know how many times we have thanked the Lord for the vehicle the He gave us! I wish I could share the details of how wonderful and sweet the Lord has been in the way that He provided this vehicle. Before heading to the States in May we had considered a smaller vehicle even after using this vehicle, but we realize that we can not have a smaller vehicle. Every trip we make we are packed to the hilt. Jose and Elizabeth Nessi inaugurated our van as a suite; the two back seats lay flat to form what they said was a very comfortable bed with plenty of room for luggage. God is the One who calls. He is the One who prepares. He is the One who enables. He is the One who supplies the tools necessary to do the assigned job. And HE is the One who receives ALL HONOR AND GLORY!

We left for Buenos Aires on Tuesday the 7th, arriving Wednesday evening. Bro. Milciades, his wife Liliana and two children, Jedida (9) and Josias (5) also traveled in their own vehicle to Buenos Aires for the camp along with Bro. Esteban Paniagua. This is the first time they have ever traveled out of the country or made a road trip of more than three hours. A sweet young couple that lives in Coronel Oviedo, but attend meeting here in Villarrica. They had planned on making a trip to Buenos Aires as a family vacation to do some sight seeing. Liliana testified how the Lord had changed their hearts and purpose for this trip in going for the camp in La Colonia. They were greatly blessed and also a blessing to all.

Wedding CeremonyCamp in La Colonia started Thursday night. We had four hours of Bible Study in the morning, two hours in the afternoon and one evening service. We also performed a wedding for a couple (newly converted) that had been living together and wanted to arrange their lives in accordance to the Word of God. Just a simple ceremony after the last service on Sunday. The abundance of the Word and the presence of the Holy Spirit worked mightily in lives and hearts. Again, to many testimonies to tell all that the Lord did at camp. Some in individual lives. Some in entire congregations. We pray that the effects of what God did will bring much more fruit to His glory! We are grateful for that which the Lord, by testimony or by the Holy Spirit, allows us to see of the fruit of His grace, but we know there is so much more that only eternity will tell.

We had planned on traveling back Monday afternoon but Charlie had scheduled a meeting for Monday night. The church building in Chingolo was packed and the Holy Spirit was poured out in abundance! Many came forward to the alter and a few tarried for quite some time. Two young boys accepted Christ as Savior down at the alter where others were being filled with the Holy Spirit. We left after meeting, about 11:30. I drove out of Buenos Aires and then Jose drove most of the way home; so grateful for the company and the help in driving for 20 hours. We arrived back in Villarrica at 7:30.

Please pray for the upcoming family camp in Isla Vega, January 23rd through the 26th. There are so many needs! Spiritual needs! There are several that are planning on making the trip from Buenos Aires, Resistencia and Formosa, Argentina. We usually expect around 800 for the weekend.

Also remember the Bible Conference in Posadas, Argentina, February 10th through the 13th. There is another group from Buenos Aires, Claypoles specifically, that is planning on making the trip. We are also planning on visiting several meetings in the Encarnacion, Paraguay area and then head to Ciudad Del Este and continue visiting churches in that area. We will then need to be back in Villarrica in time for the Isla Vega camp in April.

Our hearts are overflowing with God's goodness. Truly He has "filled the hungry with good things"! We are full and overflowing! We are blessed and content! But we want more!! More of Him! More of His Spirit! More of His glory!!!

May the Lord continue to bless each of you! We are grateful for your prayers and we praise the Lord for your fellowship in the gospel.
