Isla Vega - January 2014

Randy and Loida CrookThe January 2014, Isla Vega family camp started Thursday, January 23rd with an evening service. Most everything was the same as it has been for the last several years. It was very hot Thursday and Friday. It rained Friday night and cooled down for Saturday and Sunday. The place was packed, the food delicious the messages were excellent. That can be said about every camp that I have witnessed since we started visiting Paraguay in 2008. The heat, the food, the multitudes and the services. Praise the Lord for His goodness and mercy!

I gave a series of lessons on "The Potter"; two hours in the morning and also the evening services. Bro Esteban Paniagua gave  a series on "The Works of God" the first hour in the morning and Alicia Ocampos had the afternoon meeting with a series on "Unchangable Principles". There was such an outpouring of the Holy Spirit even in the first service Thursday night. Sunday morning alter services lasted past noon with several still at the alter speaking in tongues while others formed the line for lunch. Many were filled with the Holy Spirit and several were filled for the first time. More than one said to me that they had never experienced the presence of the Lord in this way. Four accepted Christ as Lord and Savior.

We are grateful for the continued leading of the Lord and especially the confirmation of His word in the lives of His dear children by the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, miracles and many deliverances. We are gratefull to understand that the work is the Lord's. We simply toss the seed. That is absolutely all we can do. It is the Word of God and the work of the Holy Spirit that will open eyes and transform hearts. The need is overwelming and if we did not have that understanding we would despair.
