Pray for Bro. Richard

Saturday a young man in his early thirties came to speak with me here at the house. He was totally distraught and at the end of his rope. Friday night he had considered taking his own life. His mother is a believer, but his father is not and is a drunkard and an abusive husband and father. Richard's wife has left him several times and has been unfaithful to him. He has gotten himself into debt trying to please this woman that he loves. They have five children together; three boys and two girls.

After talking with him for some time and showing him that there is nothing that we can do about his life and the impossible situations that he is facing, we considered what we can deal with is his relationship with God. As a child of God, his Heavenly Father will lead him and guide him and help him to straighten out his life. We knelt together and Richard gave his heart to the Lord Jesus Christ. I gave him a Bible (one that had just arrived with our other belongings) and told him that there are three things that he needs to do no matter what happens; read his Bible, pray and gather with God's people.

We went to Cnel. Oviedo Sunday morning for the first Sunday School they have had in many years, so we were not in Villarrica, but I was informed that Richard was in church Sunday morning along with his mother and his children. I spoke Sunday night in Villarrica and he was there again.

Monday morning he came over again and we read some Scripture and prayed together. He is looking for a job and very much wants to change his life. Please pray for Richard that he will grow in grace and in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. Pray that he will be able to find a job to support his family. Pray that the Lord will take away his vice of smoking. I shared with him the testimony of Bro. David Franklin. Pray also that his children will come to a saving knowledge and that the will of God be done in his relationship with his wife and in his family.
