August 2013 News Letter

Dear Saints,

Hebrews 7:25 (AMP)
Therefore He is able also to save to the uttermost (completely, perfectly, finally, and for all time and eternity) those who come to God through Him, since He is always living to make petition to God and intercede with Him and intervene for them.

In my meditations lately I keep coming back to this verse. The abundance and...perfection of the redemptive work of Jesus Christ. For life and eternally I am saved and being saved. I am eternally saved, nothing more to add, nothing more to do in regards to my eternal destiny. The height and depth of that statement we will ponder our entire life and for eternity; but, wait! There is more! Not just (as if a small thing) my eternal security, but right now, in this life, in very practical ways He has saved me and is saving me. Is this what Jesus was talking about when he said conserning His sheep; "...he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture." (John 10:9)? We enter into salvation by faith and go out, into the deeper things of God, by faith. Truely, "My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior." (Luke 1:46-47)

It seems like yesterday that we arrived back in Paraguay and yet it has been one month already. In that time we have painted and repaired an appartment and moved in. We continue to fix and decorate and purchase furniture, etc. Our little apartment is now quite cozy and really does feel like home. We have our cell phones, land line and internet service. We are learning the in's and out's of bills and markets and purchasing and ettiquete and so much more. Let's just say that things here work a little differently. That is all a part of the basic necesities of living.

We have visited six separate meetings, apart from Villarrica, since we arrived. This past weekend we visited Loida's parents and ministered in the meeting there as well as two other meetings that are in the same area. Saturday night we had a very blessed meeting in Monday; a small assembly where the pastor passed away in January and the new pastor had invited us when we were here in May. Almost the entire congregation came forward for special prayer and the Holy Spirit fell on all. I don't know if any where filled for the first time, but if not, then many were renewed with a new annointing.

Construction has started on a church building here in Villarrica as well as in San Juan. Loida and I went to help dig foundations for pillars on Wednesday before our trip to Ciudad Del Este. I'm afraid we are not as much help as we would like to be in that area. All the digging and building is done entirely by hand. You can check out the blog for pictures and updates. This past weekend almost all the able bodied members of the church were there working. Many brought food and some was prepared on site. It is good to see God's people working together shoulder to shoulder.

So much to do and so little time in each day. We must learn to seek the Lord's guidance for that which HE would have us to do each and every day. This coming week we are to travel to Santani and surrounding area for meetings with Bro. Enrique Ullon. September 19th through the 22nd we will be holding a youth retreat at the Isla Vega camp. Please pray with us for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. For the last two years we have seen the Lord pouring out His Spirit once again. For several years we had good alter services but not many were being filled. That changed in January of 2012 and we are praying for an even greater outpouring. There are several special meetings projected for the month of October also. Please pray that the Holy Spirit will lead and guide our every step that we might be a blessing.

For your friendship and for your fellowship in the gospel, THANK YOU!

In Christ Jesus,
Randy & Loida Crook
