2013 Isla Vega Youth Camp

WOW! That is the best I can do to express what the Lord has done at the youth camp this year. From the very beginning Thursday night there was an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. We started Thursday with about 60 young people and ended with over 150. Everyone was down at the altar Thrusday night

I gave a series of lessons on the person and work of the Holy Spirit, speaking Thursday, Friday and Saturday night and Friday and Sunday in the morning service. Alicia spoke Friday and Saturday morning and Elva Romero, from Resistencia Argentina, spoke Saturday and Sunday morning. There was such anointing in all the messages and the young people were attentive and quiet.

There was a good spirit through out the camp. A calm and united spirit. The young people from Villarrica had organized activities for the afternoon from 2 to 5. Even in the recreation there was a good calm spirit of unity. The young people were organized into five teams competing against each other. The young people from Villarrica were the judges and referees and they had t-shirts printed for them. The first prize was a trophy that they designed of wood in the form of the camp water tower. It has engraved "Campamento Isla Vega 2013" and Philipians 3:19. It was all done in good spirit and a ceremony after the Sunday morning service where they handed out prizes and the trophy.

Saturday night the driver of the vehicle that brought the group from Encarnacion came forward to accept Christ as Savior and Lord. Come to find out he was a distant relative of the Bogado family. He had heard the gospel on another ocacion. We are  always concerned when an unbeliever is there when there is such a manifestation of the Holy Spirit; but the Lord is faithful to minister to the heart. After accepting the Lord he came forward for the altar service.

Saturday night I believe at least 6 people were filled with the Holy Spirit and many were refreshed. Among them Natalia and Laurita Galeano. Sunday morning sister Elva gave a good and practical lesson and after the recess, where people get their things ready to head out as soon as lunch is done, I gave a lesson on "walking in the power of the Holy Spirit". I asked the group from Caazapa to come up and sing the special that they sang along with the congregation; "All to Jesus I surrender". There was the "sound of many waters" as the place errupted in praise and an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. The Spirit began to move and there was such an explosion that I thought surely everyone in the place must have been filled. It must have been something like this on the day of Pentecost where there was "a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting (in this case, standing). This lasted for over an hour. I do not know if any were filled durring this last hour. We did not sit down to eat until 1PM.

How we praise and exalt the Lord Jesus Christ for His goodness and mercy! The Holy Spirit spoke this verse to my heart as we were worshipping. "...this is [the beginning of] what was spoken through the prophet Joel". Acts 2:16 (AMP) Please pray with us that this will be a beginning of a true outpouring of the Holy Spirit in Paraguay. We do not want it to be like in the book of Judges where "...another generation arose after them who did not know the Lord nor the work which He had done for Israel". Judges 2:10b (NKJV)

Thank you for your continued prayers and fellowship!
