Isla Vega Camp

Loida and her family drove from Ciudad Del Este on Wednesday morning early to join us at the Isla Vega Camp.  Loida took most of the pictures and she got some good ones of the bridge going through Troche, the "carumbe", horse driven carts and the dirt road leading to camp from Villarrica.

The Pastors Convention ended at noon on Thursday and the general camp started Thursday with the evening service.  This allows for time for people to arrive and settle in to their tents or lodges.  There are two large buildings with bathrooms.  One for the girls and one for the boys.  Last year they finished a second story for the girls.  The camp continues to grow and more sleeping accommodations are needed as well as bathrooms.

I believe we started camp with at least 600 people and finished camp with over 750.  The rules for the camp were not read this year as most are aware of the rules.  With that many people you need some order and an awareness of expectations.  There were no incidents or issues that we are aware of.

Dad took an hour in the morning and the afternoon service giving a series on the Prodigal Son.  I had an hour in the morning and the evening services during the general camp.  I have a series on Perfection; we are called to be perfect, what is perfection?  what is the "measuring rod"?  how do we attain to perfection?  The architect and builder is also the one who provides the "material and tools" to obtain to perfection.

We had good alter services with four people accepting the Lord as Savior.  Several receive the infilling of the Holy Spirit and we had testimony of sever making commitments to the Lord.  We are always refreshed to experience the faithfulness of God's promises.  "...It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it" (Isa 55:11).  It's not about a place or a person or a method or anything else.  God's word given in sincerity and faith and with prayer will do the job!  And yet we see so many preachers and pastors trying this and that trying to "spice up" or present the word in some "appealing" way.  God's word is ALL we need; rightly divided, anointed with the power of the Holy Spirit.
